Check out the plans for Honeymoon Island, Dubai’s romantic overwater villa retreat

There are so many options for romantic hotels in Dubai, including stunning desert locations, stunning Palm Jumeirah hotels with Michelin-star restaurants, and opulent villa resorts with private pools. However, the Heart of Europe has revealed plans for a gorgeous new getaway that is sure to immediately become the top choice for staycations for couples.

Greetings from Honeymoon Island, one of the six islands that comprise the World Islands’ Heart of Europe. The aptly named “heart-shaped” island is expected to provide Dubai a taste of paradise-inspired island living a la Maldivian. It can be reached by speedboat in 20 minutes, eliminating the need for an aircraft or flight.

As one of the most talked-about features of the heart of Europe project, the self-described five-star island location is the ideal place for a romantic getaway with your significant other. Guests can check into one of the 133 ‘floating seahorse’ homes. These floating villas will be scattered throughout the island’s jetties to the north and south, and they will come equipped with underwater bedrooms. A large swimming pool, beach bar and multiple dining options are just a few of the amenities available to guests on the island’s golden beaches when they’re not making the most of their aquatic-themed home.

Although the romantic island destination’s launch date is yet unknown, it will be conveniently placed close to Main Europe Island, where the first hotel—the Voco Monaco Dubai Hotel—is currently accepting visitors. The family-friendly Portofino luxury will soon join it, and in January 2026, the Vignette Collection luxury Marbella Hotel Dubai is scheduled to open.
