UAE news: A new federal traffic law has been announced

The UAE is evolving to keep up with the changes because the future has arrived. The UAE government unveiled a new federal traffic regulation this past Monday that aims to include the increasing usage of modern technologies on the nation’s roadways.

Declared by His Majesty The UAE’s Vice-President and Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who also serves as the ruler of Dubai, and the Cabinet drafted this law with the swift advancement of global transportation infrastructure in mind.

The increasing usage of electric and self-driving cars, plus other forms of personal mobility and overall system dependence, will all be covered by the new laws. Modifications to the car classification scheme will facilitate an improved understanding of the evolution of the road ecosystem.

Additionally, exclusions for some groups from acquiring driver’s licences, licence and permission suspensions, insurance, inspections, rules, and driving school conditions will be outlined.

The future of the roads

It’s critical to comprehend our road networks and their ongoing evolution, particularly in light of the growing volume of traffic and the shifting patterns of flow and influx. The increasing volume has prompted the RTA to look at traffic patterns, create traffic flow plans that might include more policies allowing employees to work from home, and make a list of ways to make driving more convenient. Additionally, exclusions for some groups from acquiring driver’s licences, licence and permission suspensions, insurance, inspections, rules, and driving school conditions will be outlined.
