Video: It looks like Ain Dubai could be reopening

The largest Ferris wheel in the world closed for thirty days in March 2022, and while there have been more delays since then, it looks like that the attraction is getting ready to reopen.

This week, on a recent visit to Bluewaters, it was noticed that Ain Dubai was back in business. The biggest ferris wheel in the world was moving, even though no one was riding it. It looks that the record-breaking attraction will shortly reopen, which is a positive development.

Ain Dubai’s this restaurant displays of light were also off all through the first several weeks of Ramadan, which led us to believe that repairs and enhancement projects were in progress. Now that the colourful displays are operational again, perhaps more progress is being made.

We’re not sure as to when it will reopen now, but check back for updates.

The story so far

Originally scheduled to close for the duration of the month of Ramadan, Ain Dubai changed its mind in March 2022 and decided to stay closed “until Q1, 2023.” As per a report published in April 2023, Ain Dubai is set to keep closed until further notice.”

According to the most recent information, Ain Dubai has stated that it will continue to make careful attempts to complete the upgrading projects, which have been going on for a number of months. Once the reopening date has been decided, another statement will be released.

As they had stated when the first shutdown was announced, they reiterated that they will introduce “new and interesting offers” when Ain Dubai reopens. Enough to keep us interested. And maybe we’ll find out as soon that we can.

The apple of our ain

On October 21, 2021, Ain Dubai, a much anticipated attraction in Dubai, debuted. The 250-meter-tilting attraction is the tallest in the globe and is now hailed as the biggest and highest observation wheel in the world. It stands 82 metres taller than the High Roller in Las Vegas and is almost twice as large as the London Eye. All 48 cabins offer a full 360-degree view of the Arabian Gulf, Bluewaters Island, Dubai Marina and JBR, Burj Al Arab, and Burj Khalifa.

In the six months that it was open, Ain Dubai, according to its website, received thousands of visitors from all over the world.

Having gotten in touch with Ain Dubai for an official update, What’s On is hoping that the enormous wheel will still be spinning in 2024.
