The finest pure leather from the First Class Seats, 95% wool seat coverings, and pure leather from the Captain Seats are the materials utilised.

Before being made into one-of-a-kind pieces, all textiles are first freshly laundered at a facility, followed by a thorough hand deep clean, leather conditioning if necessary, and complete disinfection.

The official title of Emirates’ 14 “tailors,” or Engineering Maintenance Assistants, is “repairing and stitching any tears” in the interiors of the airline’s large fleet of aeroplanes.

At the moment, four of these tailors work full-time on the upcycling project, creating things that are repurposed and working with suppliers to come up with ideas for new uses for different materials.

It coincides with the introduction of new Economy passenger amenity packs by the Dubai-based airline.
