Okay, so we already have an opera house, the amazing dhow Dubai Opera, but we may soon have two.
Yes, Dubai is planning a like new opera house. The Azizi Opera will be located in South Dubai.
It will be situated in Azizi Venice, a new $8.1 billion complex. It will be a 24-million-square-foot Venetian-style waterfront town with 30,000 houses, including villas, flats, and palaces.
The Azizi Opera will be located in the heart of the development and hopes to become an attraction for tourists. There are also three hotels in the vicinity where travellers may stay.
While the finer details are still being worked out, there’s a lot to be excited about at our present opera house.
Indeed, Dubai Opera released an excellent lineup of productions for the remainder of 2023 and the start of 2024.
Matilda The Musical will be presented on the stage from Tuesday, October 3 to Thursday, October 12.
Then, in a modern production directed by Richard Twyman, Shakespeare’s Macbeth comes to life. The Shakespeare North Playhouse’s visceral appearance of the play runs for three nights, from Friday, November 3 through Sunday, November 5.
Slava’s SnowShow will be on stage from Friday December 8 to Sunday December 10, followed by Tchaikovsky’s traditional Christmas ballet, The Nutcracker, from Friday December 15 to Sunday December 17.
