Emirates upgrade hack: How to make sure you never miss out on a step up

There’s no doubting that we always desire we could be upgraded when it comes to flying.

How? Set up automatic upgrades on the Emirates Skywards Miles app so that your Skywards Miles will be used to instantly upgrade you to the next cabin class when they become available.

Only if there are enough seats for every passenger on the reservation and they become available 90 days or more before departure, up to 72 hours in advance, will the vehicle upgrade feature be enabled.

Your journey’s individual segments will determine how many Skywards Miles you need, not the combination of origin and destination plus connected segments.

If a transportation modification is selected, if there are not enough Miles when seats become available, the modifications will not be carried out.

The auto-upgrade will not be available for option if there is a further fee gather for an upgrade; however, you can opt to get notifications.

The Emirates Skywards Miles programme has four tiers: Blue, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

As a Blue member, you can benefit from free texting over onboard Wi-Fi when travelling in Business Class, waitlist priority, and upgrades using Skywards Miles at check-in or onboard.

You must take 25 trips or accumulate 25,000 Tier Miles in order to become a Silver member. Buying your way up is not an option. In addition to all of the benefits of the Blue tier membership, Silver members receive 30 percent bonus Miles on Emirates flights (up from 25 percent), free access to the Emirates Business Class club in Dubai, and much more.

To become a Gold Tier member, you must either take 50 flights or accrue 50,000 Tier Miles. In addition to the Blue and Silver tier members benefits Gold members receive a 75 percent bonus Skywards Miles on Emirates flights (up from 50 percent) and free Economy Class seat selection for themselves and anyone else included in their ticket.
