Exciting sporting events coming to Abu Dhabi in 2024

The first-ever Sail GP in Abu Dhabi is just one week away, and participants from Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States will be taking to the seas of Mina Zayed in their F50s for this exciting competition. The legendary boyband Take That will play in a timeless show on Saturday, January 13, after the aquatic action.

DP World ILT20

Season 2 of the DP World ILT20, which promises thrilling action from some of the biggest names in the sport, is poised to get off to a blazing start in 2024. Apart from the main events, which will take place in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, there will be a special chance for aspiring athletes aged 7 to 11.

Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open

From February 3 to 11, the city is set to welcome a galaxy of the best female tennis players. Two-time Wimbledon champion Ons Jabeur and Brazil’s World No. 11 Beatriz Haddad Maia have stated that they will compete, with numerous other big names to follow. Tickets start at just Dhs25, and on February 3 and 4, you may attend the qualification rounds for free. For just Dhs95, attendees may purchase courtside seats throughout the event’s first four days. For the first six days of the competition, children under the age of twelve can watch the action for free.

TriYas

The 14th edition of TriYAS, aptly dubbed “the race for everyone,” is set for February 24 this year. Held in the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, the triathlon features daytime and nighttime swimming, bike, and running events with the goal of promoting health and wellness. Events span a variety of durations and skill levels and are open to both adults and children. They include the junior triathlon, stand-up paddling, super sprint, team relay, duathlon sprint, roller skater half marathon, and more.

World League of Fighters (WLF)

Through a collaboration between the World League of Fighters (WLF) and the World Boxing Council, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will host this year’s inaugural franchise-based combat sports competition. It seems to be a thrilling demonstration of skill in international combat sports. There will be twenty renowned men and women in the competition, split into four teams.
