UAE opens donation centres to provide relief for Palestinians in Gaza

According to UAENews Agency (wam), the UAE has launched a Tarahum (Compassion) for Gaza responsibility to deliver help packages to Palestinian families and children affected by the war.

The Emirates Red Crescent has set up a number of donation points in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah allowing members of the public to donate food, sanitary items, and health supplies to humanitarian aid packages.

Those in Abu Dhabi can donate to the Emirates Red Crescent at the following locations: Emirates Red Crescent Headquarters, Carrefour, Airport Road, Marina Mall Caravan, Shahama, Baniyas Co-operative Society, Khalifa City (behind the shops), Baniyas City (next to Lulu Hypermarket), and Al Shawamekh (in front of Lulu Express).

Collections can be made in Dubai at the Emirates Red Crescent Headquarters at Al Quoz, Umm Ramool, Al Garhoud, the Mall of the Emirates, the City Centre Al Shindagha, the City Centre Meaisem, the City Centre Mirdif, and the Arabian Centre. The gift can be found in Sharjah at the Nekheelat Authority Office, the Sharjah Co-operative Society in Helwan, the Sharjah Co-operative Society in Al Dhaid, and the Lulu Hypermarket in Al Hazana.

The Emirates Red Cross Headquarters, Al Bustan Hall, Masafi Council, Bidiyah Council, Hawaya Suburb, Khorfakkan, Suhaila Suburb, Kaiba, and Dibba Fujairah Co-operative Society for Fishermen are all located in Fujairah.

What to donate

The life-saving goods will be divided into three assistance packages: children, women, and food. For the sake of simplicity, below is a complete list of the things needed for each of the boxes. Cash donations can also be made through the official Emirates Red Crescent website.

According to The National, the Israel-Gaza war has killed more than 4,000 lives and forced more than 600,000 people to evacuate their homes.

H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, offered Dhs73.5 million in assistance to the Palestinian people, while H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, ordered another Dhs50 million.

The aid will be sent to Palestinian refugees in the Near East by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
